NYT: the first batch of Abrams tanks has already been delivered to Ukraine

The New York Times reports that the first batch of Abrams tanks was already delivered to Ukraine on Saturday.

The newspaper cites sources in the US Department of Defense.

RIA Novosti that other tanks will be provided in the future, but the exact number of military equipment is not disclosed.

Previously, the Washington administration promised to supply 31 tanks of this model to Ukraine – the first batch was supposed to consist of 10 units.

In early September, the Pentagon transmitted information that depleted uranium shells could soon be sent.

Russia opposes sending any weapons to the Ukrainian army, as this contradicts the goals of the special military operation.

The Kremlin believes that pumping Ukraine up with weapons will not lead to anything good.

Western countries continue to send weapons and military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
