In Paris, where the Olympic Games start next week, an incident occurred with a car and a cafe.
The car drove into a catering establishment. As a result, one person died and six more were injured.
Soon the culprit of the tragedy was detained, – MIA “Russia Today” with reference to the BFMTV channel.
According to the latest information received from the capital’s prosecutor’s office, the detained driver is currently in custody.
The man is being investigated for manslaughter and involuntary mischief.
Earlier, French media reported that the accident claimed the life of one person and injured six citizens, with three of them requiring urgent medical attention.
Initially, the driver of the car managed to escape, and the passenger was detained. And they found out that there were traces of drugs and alcohol in his blood.
Police and military forces were brought to the area of that cafe for the anti-terrorist operation “Sentry”. Rescuers were also there. The entire street was cordoned off by security forces.
As far as we know, law enforcement considers the most likely version of what happened to be a road accident unrelated to the terrorist attack.
