Parliamentary elections in Poland: winner announced

19views

Parliamentary elections have finished in Poland: the State Election Commission has processed all the ballots.

The results indicate that the country’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, led by Jaroslaw Kaczynski, won.

Her result was 35.38% of the votes collected. However, this party will not be able to form a government on its own (it will receive no more than 200 seats in the Seimas).

About this MIA “Russia Today”, noting that in the previous elections (2019) PiS received significantly more votes – 235 out of 460 parliamentary seats.

As for the current elections, the majority of Poles supported a coalition of 3 opposition parties: Donald Tusk’s “Civic Coalition” and the “Third Way” and “New Left” party associations.

It is this coalition that will now have almost 250 seats in the country’s parliament.

By the way, according to calculations, the final turnout in the last elections was 73.37% – this is a record figure since 1989.
