A wave of information passions has arisen in Ukraine regarding the dismissal of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.

Some journalists and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada claim that the president signed a corresponding decree.

The country’s leadership, the press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine deny such statements.

What Nikiforov says

In particular, the press secretary of the head of state, Sergei Nikiforov, assures that Vladimir Zelensky did not dismiss the commander in chief.

A little later, Zelensky published his next evening video message to Ukrainians.

In it, he did not say a word about the flared passions surrounding the information about Zaluzhny’s dismissal.

Information from deputies

Ex-Rada deputy Borislav Bereza started such conversations by declaring that the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been removed.

Another parliamentarian noted that his sources confirmed the relevant information.

And he added: Zaluzhny was informed of his resignation, but so far there is no official decree.

According to the deputy, the commander-in-chief was offered the post of ambassador to one of the European countries, but he refused.

Media

After this, information appeared in the Ukrainian media that a decree regarding Zaluzhny’s resignation had been signed.

According to them, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, has been appointed as the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Some publications wrote that Defense Minister Rustem Umerov was dismissed along with Valery Zaluzhny.

Reaction of the Ministry of Defense

Against the backdrop of the uproar, the ministry itself issued a statement, noting that the information being disseminated does not correspond to reality.

In turn, Bereza said that Budanov and the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, refused the post of commander in chief.

According to him, the president’s office received calls from foreign partners expressing their outrage.

Earlier, the ex-deputy minister said that Zelensky wants Zaluzhny to become Budanov.
