35views

American doctors sadly reported the death of the world’s first patient who was the owner of a pig’s heart.

The doctor who led the organ transplant operation admitted that the man’s death shocked him. The patient with the first “xenoheart” was 57 years old and his name was David Bennett.

At the moment, the cause of death is not being disclosed, since the results of the autopsy are not yet known, reports.

It is known that after the transplant the man lived for two months, and the results of the operation were called successful.

The transplant was supervised by Dr. Bartley Griffith, who called the deceased “a very brave man.”

David Bennett suffered from a serious heart condition.

He agreed to the desperate experiment after he was refused a place on the human transplant waiting list.

As mentioned, the surgery was successful, the patient completed physical therapy and was already spending time with family.

He was even allowed to watch a sports show, but a few days before his death his health began to deteriorate.

The relatives of the deceased are not discouraged and express hope that the transplantation carried out by doctors will be “the beginning of hope, not the end.”
