Pensioners protest in Kyiv: police use tear gas

Today, July 14, protests are taking place in Kyiv. Veteran security forces took to the streets of the capital of Ukraine.

The protesters’ demand is a recalculation of pensions, Ukrainian media report.

In addition, retired employees of the country’s law enforcement agencies wanted to talk with Dmitry Razumkov, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

The veterans gave the deputy 30 minutes to come out to the protesters. However, the head of the Ukrainian parliament never did this.

After Razumkov refused to negotiate, protesters tried to break through and storm the Rada building.

However, the police stopped them. At the same time, Ukrainian law enforcement officers used tear gas.

There is no information about casualties at this time.

It is noted that the protesters are unhappy that their pensions were not recalculated.

Veteran security forces put forward a demand to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

According to them, the Ukrainian leader must instruct the heads of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard to sign orders to review payments.
