Pentagon chief confirms pause in arms supplies to Israel

The United States is reviewing some types of military assistance to Israel in connection with the events in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

This information was announced on May 8 by the head of the US Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin.

What the head of the Pentagon said about military aid to Israel

Commenting at a hearing in the Senate Appropriations Committee on American media reports about the US suspension of some ammunition supplies to Israel, Austin said that Washington was reviewing some short-term supplies in the context of events in Rafah.

At the same time, the Pentagon chief emphasized that no final decisions have been made regarding the suspension of supplies of certain weapons to Israel.

We did pause to re-evaluate some of the military assistance being provided, – added the head of the American defense department.

Earlier it was reported that the Israeli army was conducting a targeted counter-terrorism operation in Rafah.
