German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has discovered a hole in the budget of his country’s Armed Forces for 2025.

According to him, the size of this hole is up to 6 billion euros.

The head of the German defense department warned the German authorities about this, reports the popular publication Bild.

According to the newspaper, the German Ministry of Finance has budgeted 52 billion euros for defense spending in 2025.

However, experts have calculated that an amount of 4.5 to 6 billion euros will be missing to meet NATO requirements.

The article says that these 52 billion will not be enough for almost anything except “operating costs” in the form of military salaries, heating barracks and repairing equipment.

And for investments in the creation of new weapons, a “pathetic” 500 million euros remain, writes the author of the material.

He learned that funding for a number of Bundeswehr projects was in question, including the deployment of a combat-ready brigade in Lithuania.

In the latter case, the journalist informs, Berlin will have to allocate 5 billion euros, but at the moment 0 euros 0 cents have been allocated.
