Pistorius named the reason for the leak of conversations between German officers

58views

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius named the reason for the leak of a conversation between German officers about how to attack the Crimean Bridge without consequences for Berlin.

According to him, it was not the hacking of communication systems that led to the leak of the scandalous conversation, as some previously put forward hypotheses stated.

According to the minister, the reason is that one of the high-ranking military was careless to connect via an unsecured connection.

Individual error

In addition, Pistorius states that, contrary to media speculation, German communications systems were not compromised.

The reason that it was possible to record the conversation of the Air Force officers was an individual error by the user, the head of the Ministry of Defense MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

The minister acknowledged the fact that not all participants in the ill-fated conversation followed the secure connection procedure.

He says that the leak happened to an officer in Singapore – he was the one who connected through a public network.

According to Pistorius, the incident is a very serious mistake.

There were no spies

He also confirmed that the conversation between the officers was carried out on a version of the WebEx online platform certified by the German Ministry of Defense for confidential negotiations.

The head of the department added that the servers used are located exclusively in Germany.

There was neither a Russian spy nor any other outsider at this WebEx conference, the minister will assure.

He does not hide the fact that he is extremely angry because of such a far from trivial incident.

Pistorius noted that disciplinary review will be carried out against the participants in the conversation.

Previously, Scholz was harsh for disclosing intelligence about the British military in Ukraine.
