Poland complains about cheap Russian raw materials: “tragic situation”

7views

Russian plastic supplied to Poland caused indignation among the local association “Polish Recycling”.

Even current bans and programs to stop using plastic do not help. Instead, Poland continues to increase volumes.

The import of virgin plastic from Russia to Poland forced local industry experts to sound the alarm about the volumes supplied, writes MIA “” with reference to the Interia portal.

All EU countries have an embargo on Russian raw materials, but this does not prevent plastic from Russia from entering the Polish market.

As a result, it becomes cheaper than locally produced plastics, especially recycled ones.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, up to 40% of Polish enterprises have encountered cheap and primary raw materials from Russia.

The country’s demand for plastic is 7.5% of the total demand in the European Union, and these figures are called terrible.

The reason is not only supplies from Russia, but also that, according to EU standards, the amount of plastic needs to be reduced.

However, Poland is increasing its volumes.
