Poland conducted a secret operation in Ukraine

3views

It recently became clear that there were Polish police officers on the territory of Ukraine.

They had a special mission – conducting a secret operation to clear some areas in the Northern Military District zone.

Wirtualna Polska reports this, noting that the reason for such actions by Warsaw was that Kyiv does not have enough of its own sappers.

But NATO cannot send its specialists, fearing that Moscow will regard such a step as a provocation.

According to the publication, the mission started after Ukraine turned to the member countries of the association of anti-terrorist units of the European Union in 2022 with a request to send sappers to the country.

However, only Poland agreed, according to the publication of MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

According to the authors of the article, the head of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mariusz Kaminski, ordered the formation of a Humanitarian Police Contingent.

It included 98 officers from individual counter-terrorism units who voluntarily wished to participate in the operation.

The group also included paramedics, members of combat teams to protect mission participants and two dogs trained to detect mines, the publication reported.

Journalists write that Polish police arrived in Ukraine in early October.

Initially, the length of stay of law enforcement officers in a foreign country was limited to three months, but in December they were extended for another two months.

Polish police officers worked, among other places, in the vicinity of Kyiv, Dnieper and other places, the publication notes.
