Poland is demanding compensation from Germany for $1.3 trillion in damages caused by the Nazis during World War II.

This amount was announced by the leader of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, on September 1 at the presentation of a report on the losses the country suffered as a result of the attack by Nazi Germany.

What Kaczynski said

Kaczynski noted that the amount of reparations is “the most limited and conservative” and could be significantly increased.

For the German economy this is a feasible amount – believes the leader of PiS.

He recalled that dozens of countries received compensation from Germany, but Poland did not.

According to Kaczynski, Germany caused enormous damage to Poland, the negative consequences of which the country still feels.

The politician believes that the path to obtaining reparations from Germany will be long, but is convinced that Poland will ultimately succeed.
