Poland does not plan to extend assistance to Ukrainian refugees

Poland does not plan to extend assistance to refugees from Ukraine next year.

This information was announced on September 19 by the press secretary of the Polish government, Piotr Muller.

What assistance to refugees will Poland not extend?

In March last year, Poland adopted a special law, according to which Ukrainians who arrived in the country after the start of the Russian special operation could receive legal stay, cash assistance, social assistance for children, free medical care, free car insurance and other benefits.

Today, a spokesman for the Polish government reminded on TV that these benefits expire at the beginning of 2024.

Nothing is given forever, only for the period of ongoing armed conflict. They will simply cease to operate at the beginning of next year, – stated the official.

According to Mueller, at the moment no decision has been made on extending the benefits provided by law.

I think that these rules will not be extended to a significant extent, – said a representative of the Polish government, noting that the international community should be more widely involved in helping Ukrainian refugees.
