The Polish authorities are considering the possibility of completely closing the border with Belarus.

This information was announced by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski on the Polish TV channel TVN24.

What Sikorsky said about closing the border with Belarus

On TVN24, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry said that Warsaw is considering the possibility of closing all border crossings on the Polish-Belarusian border “in connection with the actions of Belarus.”

According to Sikorski, the Polish authorities are currently studying whether this will be noticeable for the country’s economy.

In this context, the minister referred to the experience of Finland, which closed all checkpoints on the border with Russia.

There are 6 checkpoints on the Belarusian-Polish border. On the initiative of Warsaw, 4 are closed, and on the fifth there are restrictions for Belarusian trucks.

Poland regularly accuses Belarus of organizing an influx of migrants from Africa and the Middle East.

On June 13, Warsaw introduced a buffer zone of over 60 km on the border with Belarus. On a section of 44 km it is prohibited to stay 200 m from the border line, on a section of 16 km – 2 km from the border line.

Earlier it was reported that NATO was bringing its nuclear weapons to a state of combat readiness.
