Official Warsaw has expressed a desire to spend 10 billion zlotys ($2.5 billion) to strengthen the security of its eastern borders.

This statement was made in Krakow by the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk.

He called it “an investment in our security,” referring primarily to the border in the east.

The amount of an investment such as the TASS agency should be 10 billion zlotys.

We are starting a grandiose project to build a secure border, we have already allocated this 10 billion zlotys, we have already begun this work,” the Prime Minister announced.

He explained: the project involves the construction of fortifications and the modernization of existing security elements.

All this will cover a 400-kilometer area on the republic’s border with Belarus and Russia.

Tusk noted that the national plan for the comprehensive strengthening of the country’s eastern border is called “Eastern Shield”.

Previously, Tusk said that Poland was already carrying out fortification work on its eastern border.
