Poland will deploy HIMARS MLRS near the border with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation

The Polish Ministry of Defense announced the deployment of American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems near the border with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.

The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Polish defense department, Mariusz Blaszczak, on March 17.

According to the minister, this year the HIMARS MLRS will be supplied to the armed 16th mechanized division of the Polish Army, which is stationed near the border with the Kaliningrad region.

Already this year, the American HIMARS will enter service with the 16th Mechanized Division. – said Blaszczak, clarifying that we are talking about the division that Poland ordered in 2019.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense noted that it is important for the Polish Army to have proven weapons.

Let us recall that in February Blaszczak announced that the United States would supply Poland with more than 500 HIMARS systems.
