Poland plans to strengthen the electronic barrier on the border with Belarus.

This was announced on July 5 by the press secretary of the Podlaskie Border Office of the Polish Border Guard, Katarzyna Zdanowicz.

As Zdanovich reported, the Polish Border Guard Service signed a corresponding agreement.

In order to strengthen monitoring, cameras will be added to some sections of the border.

The electronic barrier, which is a system of sensors and cameras, operates along 206 km of the border.

Currently, a section with a length of about 50 km is being built on the border sections of Istochanka and Svisloch.

According to a representative of the Polish Border Service, work to strengthen the barrier will last until October.

As the department reported on the social network X, the amount of work under the contract is about 125.26 million zlotys (about $31 million).

Poland also plans to strengthen the 5.5-meter fence installed along 186 km of the border by reinforcement; the signing of the corresponding contract will take place next week.
