Polish President Andrzej Duda signed a law that officially allows security forces to use weapons against illegal immigrants at the border.

The head of the office of the head of state, Małgorzata Paprocka, notified the general public about this.

President Andrzej Duda signed a law supporting the actions of soldiers and employees of other services at the border, – her statement to MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

The official believes that this document “will make it possible to protect the border even better, even more effectively, including by increasing the safety of the Polish soldier.”

The mentioned law was adopted by the Polish parliament in July of this year.

According to the document, the army can carry out “independent actions” on the border in peacetime.

The military can do this not only in support of border guards and police.

The law stipulates such a concept as a “military operation” carried out on the territory of the republic in peacetime.

In addition, the legal act supplements the local Criminal Code with a provision that levels liability for actions committed under certain conditions.

This refers to the use of weapons by border-defending troops when they are used “to repel a direct attack on their life, health or freedom.”
