Polish Defense Minister: the first Patriot air defense systems and Leopard tanks arrived in Ukraine

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced the arrival in Ukraine of the first American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and German Leopard tanks.

The minister emphasized that this happened thanks to the efforts of Poland.

The head of the Polish defense department stated this in an interview with a Spanish publication.

What Blaszczak said about arms supplies to Ukraine

The minister noted that Poland is the main point of transfer of military assistance to Ukraine and one of the largest donors.

I must emphasize that thanks to the efforts of Poland, Patriot batteries or the first Leopard tanks arrived in Ukraine, – stated the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense.

He recalled that since the beginning of the conflict, Poland has provided military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of more than 2.2 billion euros.

Blaszczak clarified that this amount does not include the costs of training Ukrainian military personnel and funds spent on the transfer of Leopard tanks.

Answering a question about the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine, the minister said that this issue should be resolved at a broader allied level.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense was also asked how long the conflict will last.

I’m afraid it’s a matter of months, not weeks, Blaszczak responded.
