On May 28, ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made his second unsuccessful attempt to leave the country in a day.

The Ukrainian publication “Strana” reported this on Telegram, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

How Poroshenko tried to leave the country

According to the publication, the leader of the European Solidarity party again tried to leave for Poland today, and at the same checkpoint “Rava-Russkaya”.

It is noted that the politician drove into the oncoming lane to avoid the line, and that he was stopped by patrol officers.

The publication also reports that yesterday the border guards did not let Poroshenko through due to the fact that the QR code on the document with an exit permit from Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk could not be read.

Let us recall that on the night of May 28, member of the Ukrainian parliament Irina Gerashchenko reported that the ex-president was not allowed to cross the border without explanation to participate in a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Alliance.

According to Gerashchenko, the border guards considered the order on the business trip signed by the Speaker of the Rada to be fake or cancelled.

In Ukraine, Poroshenko is suspected of treason and promoting terrorism in a criminal case regarding the supply of coal from Donbass. The former head of state faces up to 15 years in prison.
