The production company Quarteto Filmes Produções accuses the former mayor of Belo Horizonte, Alexandre Kalil, and the State Directory of the Social Democratic Party of Minas Gerais (PSD-MG) of a default that, in updated values, amounts to R$ 1,239,401.16 . This is the second accusation of default involving Kalil in as many days.
On Monday (16), for services provided by the company of former deputy Manuela d’Ávila, which also would not have been declared to the Electoral Court.
In this new action, the producer claims to have signed four contracts for the “production of television films and radio programs during the electoral campaign period”, according to a court document.
A CNN had access to the process, filed on July 31, which contains signatures of PSD leaders and stamps from the 2022 campaign with the slogan “Kalil Governor”.
One of the contracts, however, does not have the signature of party members. The producer justifies that it performed the service, believing in the PSD’s good faith, since the other contracts were already in progress.
“The plaintiff initiated its obligations by believing in the good faith of the opposing party,” says the document.
In a statement, the PSD State Directorate stated that “it did not sign any contract with Quarteto Filmes, and is unaware of any debt with the company. The party’s accounts were duly submitted to the Electoral Court.”
Services provided and not paid
The firm Adriano Cardoso Advogados, which represents the producer, states that all services were carried out, but the payment, initially of R$934 thousand, was not made.
As proof, the office included a link with all the material produced by the producer that was made available to broadcasters.
After the lack of payment, the PSD was notified extrajudicially in March, but responded that it “never contracted the services mentioned”.
The case remains under analysis by the Court.
When questioned, Alexandre Kalil did not return the contacts made by the report. The space remains open.
