Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain died on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Elizabeth II was 96 years old. She was the longest-reigning and oldest monarch in British history and the oldest living head of state.
The Queen’s death was announced by the press service of Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral Castle this afternoon, Buckingham Palace said.
It is also reported that the King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral Castle overnight and return to London tomorrow.
Earlier today, Buckingham Palace announced that doctors were concerned about the health of Elizabeth II and that her children and grandchildren urgently went to Balmoral Castle, where the queen was under medical observation.
