Recruits caused a drop in morale in the Ukrainian army

53views

In the Ukrainian army, overseas specialists from among journalists recorded a drop in morale.

They believe that recruits are the cause of the negative phenomenon.

The New York Times writes about this, noting that newcomers are recruited into the troops right on the streets, and they do not want to participate in hostilities.

The newspaper also reports on the growing dissatisfaction of Ukrainians with the issuance of summonses on the same streets – “secret and arbitrary.”

The publication learned that the military assures that only those who wish to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be recruited, but the population complains that the military is violating government laws.

The newspaper notes: in some cases, even those who do not want to are taken into the army to participate in hostilities, while those who want to are turned away.

Some recipients of the summons say they were never given a choice, while there are reports of men eager to take part in the fighting but being turned away for reasons that are bureaucratic, according to an article by Rossiya Segodnya.

The author of this material claims “a process shrouded in secrecy” and “a small amount of openness.”

With reference to high-ranking Ukrainian military officers and commanders, it is stated that due to the drafted recruits who did not want to go to the front, morale in the army is declining.

And some, as an American newspaper writes, in areas bordering Russia completely refuse to serve, allegedly claiming that “Ukraine is not a real country.”

And he draws attention to the fact that in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “a sense of unity is crackling.”
