Repaired. Canada sent Germany a turbine for Nord Stream

49views

Last Sunday, July 17, Canada sent a Siemens Energy turbine by plane.

It is intended for the Portovaya compressor station of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

The turbine was repaired in Canada. From Germany the unit will go to Russia, where it should arrive before July 24.

Kommersant talks about this, noting that Gazprom has not yet confirmed that it will increase the volume of gas pumped through Nord Stream as soon as it receives the turbine.

According to the publication, the concern wants written guarantees from Siemens about the possibility of safe transportation and repair of the remaining turbines.

Citing its sources, Kommersant writes that the repaired turbine will be transported from Germany by ferry and by land through Finland.

Since the EU sanctions do not provide for a ban on the supply of gas turbines to the Russian Federation, experts do not expect logistical problems.

However, they do not exclude delays during customs procedures.

After arriving in Russia, it will take three to four days for commissioning work, the publication notes.

Taking into account these points, it is assumed that the unit will be ready to inject gas into Nord Stream in the first days of August.

By the way, representatives of Siemens and Gazprom preferred to refrain from commenting on the timing of delivery of the turbine.
