Residents of the Kherson region who left for Ukraine are returning – Gubareva

Residents of the Kherson region who left for the Ukrainian regions controlled by Kiev are returning back.

Most of them are those who believed the fakes of the Kyiv authorities about the “evil Russians” and decided to leave their native places.

Now they are coming back,” MIA Rossiya Segodnya, Deputy Head of the Kherson Region Administration Ekaterina Gubareva.

And many of them, she says, believed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would soon carry out a counter-offensive, just like “other nonsense.”

Well, have you left? They saw that the vacancies on the labor market are meager, the average salary is comparable to Africa, and on top of that they also reproach us for speaking Russian,” the official said.

She admitted the possibility of leaving for Europe, but warned: today there is no “earthly paradise” anywhere in the world. Especially for refugees.

And she added: even despite the shelling, it is easier to live on our own land, having certain prospects.

Yes, there is a certain disadvantage that there may be an “arrival” or some inadequate ones in Kyiv will decide to carry out sabotage, as was the case with the “petals” in Donetsk,” Gubareva said.

But, she immediately emphasized, all this is not arranged by the local authorities, who are “putting a spoke in their wheels.”

According to her, even Ukrainian propaganda operating at full capacity, broadcasting about “atrocities” in the Kherson region, cannot affect people’s communication with each other.

Thus, many of those who left still have relatives and friends in the region, with whom they maintain constant contact, exchanging information.

Therefore, the administration representative sees two alternatives for refugees. One of them is to return, obtain Russian citizenship, receive social benefits and pensions.

Or remain without any guarantees in the territories controlled by Ukraine, where they make money from displaced people, and social payments are minimal,” Gubareva outlined the second alternative.

She assures: in the Kherson region, “tremendous opportunities and prospects are opening up” for those who want to work.
