Residents of the Netherlands began to evict Ukrainian refugees from their homes to shelters

45views

Local authorities in the Netherlands began to prepare for the fact that many refugees from Ukraine would end up in shelters.

This is due to the reluctance of local residents going on vacation to leave Ukrainians in their homes.

Some Dutch, who have sheltered people who fled the country of the military operation, are already contacting municipalities and clarifying the possibility of moving Ukrainians to shelters.

Local media report that pets remain in pet hotels.

Now there is a stream of people saying: I’m going on vacation and I don’t want Ukrainians to be left alone in my house, – MIA quotes representatives of local Dutch authorities.

Ukrainian refugees

Due to the outbreak of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, many people left the country.

As the United Nations noted, since the special military operation began, several million Ukrainians have become refugees.

More than 4 million Ukrainian citizens left for Poland, and more than 1.3 million for the Russian Federation. The number of refugees stranded in Romania exceeded half a million. The same can be said about Slovakia.

As for the Netherlands, about a thousand Ukrainians live in families that have agreed to accept refugees in their homes.
