According to the latest aggregated data obtained after counting 97% of the protocols, a clear leader has emerged in the first round of the French presidential election.

He became the current head of state, Emmanuel Macron, who received 27.6% of the votes.

The closest competitor, the leader of the National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, has 23.41% of the votes.

In third place is the head of the Unbowed France party, Jean-Luc Melenchon – 21.95%.

But 30.19% of voters voted for Macron, while Le Pen was supported by 12.97% of citizens.

Another 7.46% of local residents cast their votes in favor of the far-right politician, founder of the Reconquest party, Eric Zemmour.

In fifth place according to the voting results in the region is the representative of the center-right Republicans party Valerie Pecresse (6.19%).

In Paris itself, Macron is in the lead with 35.33%. Next come Mélenchon (30.09%) and Zemmour (8.16%).

Marine Le Pen is the least popular among residents of the capital – sixth place (5.54%).
