Reuters: the protest of Polish truckers has complicated the supply of weapons to Ukraine

21views

Non-governmental organizations providing assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces have experienced delays in the supply of critical equipment due to the blockade of the border by Polish truckers.

Reuters reports this, citing sources.

What problems have arisen?

As reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, many of the resources purchased by non-governmental organizations are transported on commercial trucks, which are not allowed to overcome the blockade.

As Taras Chmut, head of the Ukrainian “Come Back Alive” foundation, told the agency, hundreds of drones and dozens of pickup trucks and night vision systems purchased by his organization were stuck at the border for several weeks.

The head of the non-profit enterprise Engineering Corps, Viktor Dolgopyatov, told Reuters that the protest of Polish truckers also affects manufacturers of equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

If the blockade continues, this can and is already becoming a big problem, – he said.

On November 6, Polish truckers blocked automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.

The protesters are demanding the restoration of the permit system for carriers from Ukraine, the suspension of licenses for transport firms created in Ukraine after February last year, and the separation of the queue of loaded and empty trucks. The line of trucks on the Polish side reaches 50 km, two Ukrainian drivers have already died in it.
