Revolting farmers in Spain blocked the highway on the border with France

57views

The farmer protest movement has spread across almost the whole of Europe, and now Spanish agricultural workers are rioting.

The latter, following the example of colleagues from other countries, used their tractors to block one of the most important highways.

Traffic was blocked on the road connecting Spain with France.

About this MIA “Russia Today” with reference to data from the Catalan road service.

It is noted that in this way farmers in Spain express dissatisfaction with the crisis in the agricultural sector of the European Union.

It is also reported that the Catalan agricultural syndicate Unio de Pagesos (Farmers’ Union) called the Spanish farmers to revolt.

Farmers who responded to the call of the Union blocked the AP-7 highway between Borrasa and Vilademuls and the N-II highway between Bascara and Vilamalla with tractors.

Protesting farmers say they plan to block the roads for at least two days.

But they don’t stand there idle – they stop trucks with products from Morocco and scatter them along the side of the road.

By this, farmers want to show that products imported into the EU from third countries often do not meet the standards accepted in Europe.

Earlier it was reported that farmers reached the EU headquarters in Brussels.
