Reznikov – that’s it. Zelensky replaced the Minister of Defense of Ukraine

Vladimir Zelensky announced that he had officially dismissed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.

Rustem Umerov, head of the State Property Fund, was appointed in his place.

The president of the country noted that as head of the defense department, Alexey Reznikov “went through more than 550 days of a full-scale war.”

The Ministry needs new approaches and other formats of interaction with both the military and society as a whole, – Head of State MIA “Russia Today”.

Zelensky believes that the aforementioned Rustem Umerov should now lead the ministry.

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada knows this gentleman well, and he does not need additional introductions.

I expect parliament to support this candidacy,” said the Ukrainian leader.

Let us note that Reznikov, who was dismissed, has headed the ministry since November 2021.

Earlier, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that Reznikov could be appointed Kyiv’s ambassador to the UK.

By the way. Umerov, who has headed the State Property Fund since September last year, was part of the Ukrainian delegation that participated in negotiations with Russia in the spring of 2022.
