Riots occurred at a migrant accommodation center in Lithuania

19views

Today, August 2, riots broke out in one of the tent cities in Lithuania where migrants live.

The incident occurred near the village of Rudninkai, foreign news agencies report.

It is noted that illegal immigrants are outraged by their living conditions. Some of them refuse to eat the food given to them.

Among the people housed in the camp, there are those who do not want to drink the water offered to them. According to migrants, the liquid has a “strange color.”

Opposing the conditions described, the rioters blocked the entrance to the accommodation facility.

However, Lithuanian law enforcement officers soon arrived at the scene.

The police dispersed the protesters using tear gas and a water cannon.

Some illegal immigrants were detained. Law enforcement officers took them out of the tent city.

Let us remind you that the Republic of Lithuania is faced with a migration crisis in 2021. More than 3.8 thousand people ended up in the country illegally.

When compared with the figures for 2020, this year the number of illegal immigrants is almost 50 times higher.
