Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, through the newspaper La Stampa, brought to the attention of French and Polish politicians an extremely unpleasant thing for the latter.
In particular, the head of the department said that Paris and Warsaw do not have the right to make statements on behalf of NATO about sending troops to Ukraine.
France and Poland cannot speak on behalf of NATO, which has not formally and voluntarily intervened in the conflict from the very beginning, – Crosetto MIA “Russia Today”.
According to him, sending troops to Ukraine will mark the beginning of a unilateral escalation, “which will erase the path to diplomacy.”
At the same time, the head of the Italian Defense Ministry assured Kyiv that Western countries still support him.
But, added Signor Crosetto, the West should think about how to help Ukraine “regain freedom, territory and security” through diplomatic methods.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine should not be ruled out.
