Russian intelligence learned that the United States was preparing a “color revolution” in Georgia.

The reason for this, the source of information – the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation – calls Washington’s dissatisfaction.

Clarified: The White House is “extremely dissatisfied” with how the situation is developing in Georgia on the eve of the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.

What is the opposition preparing?

As MIA Rossiya Segodnya, which has read the statement of the SVR, Georgian Western-oriented NGOs are recruiting volunteers for their revolution.

They are given the following task: to carefully monitor the voting process and record the facts of the authorities’ use of administrative resources.

The Foreign Intelligence Service stated that Tbilisi wants to announce “evidence of fraud” in the parliamentary elections, announce their non-recognition and demand a change of government.

Intelligence officers believe that participants in this event will try to provoke law enforcement officers to use force to suppress protests.

At the same time, the Americans are working in advance on options for a “ruthless” political and economic response to the “excessive” use of force by the authorities against civilians, the department said.

US concerns

Intelligence officers from Russia say: the Georgian Dream party, currently ruling in the Transcaucasian republic, has every chance of getting a majority of votes in the upcoming elections.

This scenario frightens the US authorities, who believe that in this case this party will continue its course towards the sovereign development of the country and refuse to comply with the demands of the West, noted the SVR.

According to the department, the White House cannot accept such a scenario.

The Americans intend to massively increase pressure on the Georgian authorities in the weeks remaining before the elections in order to weaken the electoral position of the Georgian Dream as much as possible, Russian intelligence suggests.
