Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov spoke about the upcoming Air Defender exercises.
He believes that this military measure is an alarming step and the Kremlin will do everything possible to ensure the country’s security.
“We are not surprised by the Air Defense exercises, but we are not emotional about them. Our military continue to fulfill their assigned duties.”– RIA Novosti Ryabkova.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs says that regardless of provocative NATO flights near St. Petersburg, the Russian Armed Forces will do everything necessary to protect the country.
He also noted that Russia will never act as a party that aggravates the situation.
The diplomat added that the Russian administration is monitoring the emergence of threats and is aware of its full responsibility for the security of the borders of the federation.
Ryabkov recalled the growing crisis in relations between the West and Russia, which began after the creation of NATO.
