The head of the German government, Olaf Scholz, after Poland’s demand for reparations, hinted at a revision of the borders between the countries.

The German Chancellor made this statement when presenting the M100 Media Award to Vladimir Klitschko in Potsdam.

What Scholz said

Drawing attention to the presence of the former head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, at the ceremony, Scholz emphasized the importance of the agreements concluded by Willy Brandt that the border between Poland and Germany was established forever.

The German Chancellor noted that he would not like anyone to rummage through history books to make revisionist border changes.

What reparations does Poland require?

Let us recall that on September 1, the leader of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, announced that Warsaw intends to receive compensation from Germany for damage caused by the Nazis during World War II in the amount of $1.3 trillion.

According to Kaczynski, this is a “feasible amount” for the German economy.

The German government responded to this by saying that they would not pay Poland anything.
