Germany refuses to supply Ukraine with weapons capable of hitting Russian lands from the territory of this country.
This position of official Berlin was expressed by German Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
The German leader justified the decision by the desire to avoid further escalation of the already extremely tense situation in Ukraine.
At the same time, he recalled that the same decision was made by his American colleague Joe Biden, who announced his refusal to supply weapons that could be used to fire at Russian territory.
I believe that this principle should be followed by everyone else. We will not act alone and will always focus on what our allies are doing – Scholz MIA “Russia Today”.
Previously, the politician assured that his country would continue to provide weapons to Kyiv.
In particular, the Chancellor then announced deliveries to Ukraine of Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, howitzers, and Iris-T air defense systems with a special radar.
And German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock promised to begin deliveries of Iris-T in the coming weeks.
