Scholz was harshly criticized for disclosing intelligence about British troops in Ukraine

The German Chancellor was harshly criticized by politicians from Great Britain.

They accused the German leader of misusing intelligence data.

This, in their opinion, happened when Scholz publicly explained why he did not want to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv.

What exactly did Scholz say?

The Chancellor noted: the British military, like the French, in Ukraine helps the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch Storm Shadow missiles (the German Taurus is believed to be a more effective analogue).

Speaking about Taurus, he said that they are “very long-range missiles,” TASS.

Therefore, he continued, what is being done to control the flight of missiles and escort them to the target by the British and French cannot be done in Germany.

It was this statement by Scholz that brought almost the entire British political elite into a state of violent indignation.

Wallace’s Wrath

Former UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said the German Chancellor’s words were “not only a dangerous use of facts, but also incorrect facts.”

Germany was the last to come to the aid of Ukraine again and again. At every step they had to be pulled or shamed to do anything, this is not leadership, this is following others, Wallace unleashed his anger on the Germans.

And then he said what exactly Scholz’s behavior demonstrated in conditions of unstable security in Europe.

And it showed that the Chancellor is “the wrong person in the wrong position at the wrong time,” the former head of the British Defense Department specified.

Slap and Abuse

The head of the British House of Commons foreign affairs committee, Alisha Kearns, called Scholz’s statements “irresponsible and a slap in the face to allies.”

“We gave Ukraine Storm Shadow, we all must give what we can, Scholz must hand over the Taurus and stop slowing down the security of Europe,” she said.

And the former head of the House of Commons defense committee, Tobias Ellwood, accused Germany of “flagrant misuse of intelligence.”

In his opinion, Berlin is doing this in order to divert attention from its reluctance to arm Kyiv with its own long-range weapons.

Previously, Macron called his views on Western troops in Ukraine balanced.
