3views

Scientists from the University of Otago (New Zealand) named five countries that can survive a nuclear winter.

According to them, even in such harsh conditions, these states will be able to continue to produce food.

The results of the scientific research were presented on the pages of the Risk Analysis journal.

Scientists have reportedly created models of life development under several unfavorable scenarios.

In particular, during the eruption of a supervolcano, the collision of the Earth with an asteroid, and also during the onset of nuclear winter, during which natural light sharply decreases.

The work of scientists has shown that only five countries will be able to survive the consequences of a nuclear war, when there will be much less sunlight and significantly lower temperatures.

These are: New Zealand, Australia, Iceland, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands.
