Scientists: residents of an Amazonian tribe deprived of medical care are aging slower than Europeans

7views

Scientists have discovered an amazing feature of the Indians from the Amazonian Tsimane tribe.

It turned out that these people’s brains age more slowly than those of Americans or residents of the European continent. At the same time, the aborigines are deprived of all services and achievements of modern medicine.

Researchers at the University of Southern California found a significant slowdown in brain volume decline among members of the tribe.

This observation leads researchers to believe that Indians are at the least risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases.

It is possible that such features were provided to them by the traditional way of life.

The paradox is that the tribal residents, deprived of modern medical care, often face infectious diseases.

Frequent inflammation provokes increased brain atrophy, but at the same time, the Tsimane tribe demonstrates the lowest level of development of coronary heart disease.

In addition, using computed tomography to examine the brains of 746 inhabitants of the tribe aged 40-94 years, they discovered a slow reduction in brain volume.

Neither residents of Europe nor the United States demonstrated such indicators.

Scientists believe that the lifestyle of modern man has increased the rate of decline in brain volume by almost 70%.
