Serbia does not need anyone’s military bases, the country remains neutral – Vucic

Serbia does not need foreign military bases; it intends to remain neutral.

This statement was made by the President of this Balkan state, Aleksandar Vucic.

Serbia itself will strengthen its army, will take care of its people and will be strong enough to be independent, –policy of MIA “Russia Today”.

According to him, Belgrade plans to continue building political alliances while maintaining good relations with Russia.

But Serbia wants to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States and China, as well as with the countries of the European Union,” Vucic added.

The Serbian leader’s statement came against the backdrop of escalating national security disputes in the country, the catalyst of which was the situation with Kosovo.

Pristina planned to ban cars with license plates from a neighboring country from entering its territory from August 1.

This outraged the Serbs living in northern Kosovo. As a result, riots broke out and not only the police, but also the military were brought in.

In turn, Belgrade brought the Serbian army to full combat readiness. The Kosovo-Serbian border was very restless: barricades appeared, sounds of shooting and even explosions were heard.

Pristina nevertheless postponed the introduction of the said ban until September, but did so after the US Ambassador addressed the local authorities with a corresponding request.
