Shipwreck off Libya kills 61 migrants

There was a shipwreck off the coast of Libya. At least 61 migrants died as a result of the incident.

The Libyan branch of the International Organization for Migration reports the incident.

According to the department, among the victims of the shipwreck were women and children.

Some Western media learned that on the sunken boat, most of the migrants were citizens of Nigeria, Gambia and some other African countries.

The survivors were provided with medical assistance by employees of the International Organization for Migration.

It is noted that 25 people who survived the terrible tragedy were sent to a detention center located nearby in Tripoli.
