Energy situation in Ukraine
According to Shmygal, today there is not a single hydroelectric power station or thermal power plant in the country that has not been shelled.
Currently, according to the prime minister, the Ukrainian energy system has emerged from a severe accident; suppliers provide 70% of all energy consumption needs; almost all critical infrastructure is connected: heat and utilities, gas distribution infrastructure, boiler houses, water utilities, wastewater systems, hospitals, mines.
Shmygal clarified that the entire main high-voltage infrastructure is working, however, problems remain in the distribution networks of oblenergos throughout the country.
On average, from 200,000 to 400,000 consumers are without power in each region at one time or another, – the head of the Ukrainian government specified.
Let us remind you that on Wednesday the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced an emergency shutdown of all three operating nuclear power plants – South Ukrainian, Khmelnytsky and Rivne – from the national energy system. Most hydroelectric and thermal power plants were de-energized.
Earlier today, IAEA head Rafael Grossi announced the connection of all nuclear power plants to the Ukrainian energy system.
