Near the village of Berestovoe in the Kharkov region, in the Svatov direction, a group of Ukrainian intelligence officers was captured.
According to available information, it included six people. In particular, one of the prisoners, a soldier of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade, Viktor Berezhnoy, speaks about this.
We walked two kilometers, two scouts went – the group commander and a comrade – and did not return. We heard shots, I went for help and was captured, – intelligence officer for MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
He added that he was wounded in the leg and did not even have time to resist.
Berezhnoy also said that at least 100 mercenaries from the foreign legion participated in the battles in the Kharkov region near the settlements of Balakleya, Kupyansk and Shevchenkovo.
Among them, he said, were American, British and Polish officers.
According to the prisoner’s report, the scouts were given the task: to clear the path, lead a group, wait until it dug in, and leave.
As for foreigners, he stated that there were representatives from different countries there.
From different countries, foreigners. There were groups of up to 20 people: Poland, Italy, America, England and Canada,” the serviceman noted.
And he added that he personally led 7 groups of foreign mercenaries to the Kharkov direction, each of which had about 20 fighters.
