Spain, Norway, Ireland recognize Palestine as an independent state

Three European countries at once – Spain, Ireland and Norway – announced their decision to recognize Palestine as an independent state.

They are going to officially do this next week – May 28.

As for Madrid, the TASS agency informed the general public of its decision by the head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez.

Next Tuesday, May 28, Spain will approve the recognition of a Palestinian state in the Council of Ministers, the politician said.

Norway

Norway’s decision on this issue is stated in a publication on the official website of this Northern European country.

Who today recognizes the independence of Palestine?

At the end of April, EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell announced the recognition of Palestine by a number of EU countries.

Today, the independence of Palestine in Europe is recognized by Bulgaria, Hungary, Cyprus, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

There are 143 such countries in the world. Among them is Russia.

Earlier, the UN Secretary General announced the denial of the Palestinians’ right to create their own state.
