Stoltenberg dotted all the i’s regarding his leadership of NATO

0views

The question of the fate of Jens Stoltenberg as NATO Secretary General has long been discussed in the press.

Some write that the Norwegian will leave, others claim that he will continue to lead the North Atlantic Alliance.

Stoltenberg himself dotted the i’s, declaring that he would hold the position of secretary general of the military-political bloc for another year.

Earlier it was reported that his powers had been extended, but the politician himself did not give a specific answer as to whether he would agree to stay for another year.

I highly appreciate the decision of NATO allies to extend my powers as Secretary General until October 1, 2024,” Stoltenberg’s latest statement to Rossiya Segodnya.

Apparently, the issue has indeed been finally resolved. This means that the Norwegian citizen who has been leading NATO since 2014 will do this for another year, that is, his powers have been extended for the fourth time.

But before that, he said that he did not intend to remain as Secretary General of the Alliance after September 2023.
