Rishi Sunak promised the largest package of military aid to Ukraine in British history, the newspaper said.
To be clarified: the transfer of equipment was announced, including 400 vehicles, 1,600 weapons and 4 million rounds of ammunition.
In addition, the Prime Minister informed about the allocation of 500 million pounds sterling for funding.
The publication calculated that if the promise becomes a reality, London’s total assistance to Kyiv in the current financial year will reach 3 billion pounds ($3.704 billion).
Officials told the newspaper that funding would be provided by Treasury reserves.
The funds will be spent on the delivery of ammunition, air defense systems, British UAVs, and some other types of weapons and military equipment.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Biden would give him a new – fast and powerful – aid package.
