According to Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson, Russia has demonstrated resilience during the conflict in Ukraine.

The head of the Swedish defense department expressed this opinion in an interview with Euractiv, as reported.

What Jonson said about Russia’s sustainability

The head of the Swedish Ministry of Defense stated that Russia showed a certain stability during the conflict in Ukraine.

According to the minister, Russia was able to restore its strength and defense industrial base.

Russia is transferring its economy and military-industrial base to a military footing, – Johnson noted.

At the same time, the head of the Swedish Ministry of Defense noted that the United States and the European Union are hesitant on the issue of long-term support for Ukraine.

He also expressed the opinion that a war involving Sweden was not inevitable.

Although the security situation has deteriorated significantly over the past 4-5 months, – the minister added.

In addition, Jonson announced an increase in Sweden’s production of 155-mm artillery and other ammunition, which is actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

On January 8, Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces Mikael Büden, on the eve of the completion of the country’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance, called on the Swedes to be prepared for a possible war. A similar statement was made by Swedish Minister of Civil Defense Karl-Oskar Bohlin.

On February 14, the Swedish government announced that Russia would become a serious threat to the country’s security in the foreseeable future.

Earlier, Polish farmers were blocking roads and checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
