67views

Taiwan’s armed forces have opened fire on a Chinese military drone for the first time.

After a Chinese drone approached the Kinmen Islands, the Taiwanese military fired a live round at it.

The Taiwan Central News Agency reported this, citing the Kinmen Army Defense Command.

What happened

When a Chinese military drone approached Erdan Island, part of the Taiwan-controlled Kinmen archipelago, the Taiwanese military fired a live round at the drone.

The drone turned around and flew away in the direction of the city of Xiamen, which is located in the coastal province of Fujian.

Previously, when Chinese drones approached, the Taiwanese army limited itself to radio warnings or firing warning flares.
