Taiwan’s military on Tuesday evening discovered two Russian frigates near the island.
Taiwanese military personnel monitored the movements of Russian Navy ships throughout their entire route.
RIA Novosti reported from the Taiwanese department that the Russian frigates were discovered at 18:00 Moscow time.
Warships of the Russian Navy were moving towards the eastern waters.
Taiwan’s military also reports that they not only monitored the movement of the frigates, but also sent aircraft and ships to conduct surveillance.
In addition, an order was given to activate the missile systems located on the shore.
At the moment, a conflict has formed between the PRC and Taiwan – the Beijing administration adheres to the principle of one China.
In 2022, the US administration sent House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit, but China was strongly opposed to this trip, since Beijing considers Taiwan its territory.
At the moment, it is unknown for what purpose the Russian warships were sent to these waters.
