Tarcísio asks for “freedom” back, criticizes the ban on X and shouts “come back, Bolsonaro” at an event in SP

In an event held this Saturday, September 7, on Avenida Paulista, the governor of the state of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), said that the demonstration is an “opportunity to build history” in defense of freedom.

“Freedom has to be a leafy tree, and this tree bears fruit. The fruits of this tree are democracy, free enterprise and prosperity. If that tree dies, the fruits die; and if the fruits die, our future dies”, the governor spoke in an electric trio alongside former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

“We cannot let our future die. If you are here, it is because you will not agree to let the future die, we cannot lose what is most dear to us, our freedom.”

Without mentioning the name of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes, Tarcísio said that there is a difference between the stance of the previous administration and the current one, when criticizing the ban on the social network X.

“How much criticism the president (Bolsonaro) received during that period, how many times he was treated badly and unfairly and yet he never compromised with freedom. He never took any vehicle offline. This is our difference to others”, defended the governor.

“May this image of the people who are here today serve as an inspiration for our congressmen, so that we can regain our freedom, so that there is no censorship, no network bans, so that there is no such exaggeration. We want pacification, but pacification presupposes gestures, and we want to see these gestures.”

Governor asks for amnesty

“Our cause, today and here, is a just cause. Our cause is freedom. Our cause is amnesty”, he reinforced, pointing to the political pardon for people arrested for the attack on Praça dos Três Poderes, on January 8, 2023.

When making the comparison and calling for the “return of freedom”, Tarcísio said he missed the years when Bolsonaro was President of the Republic, and cited reforms carried out during the period, such as the Social Security reform, the Sanitation framework, the independence of the Central Bank , the Startups milestone, the Overturning milestone and the Railways milestone.

“In a period when technology is growing so much and Brazil can ride the wave of economic growth, we cannot tolerate the lack of legal tolerance. They are keeping us away from investments,” said Tarcísio.

The governor pointed out that he would always be at the former president’s side to support him and, at the end of the speech, he asked the public on Avenida Paulista to shout “come back, Bolsonaro”.
